Silent Partner Program

"Great Turnout in Downtown Rockwall from Residents Backing the Blue"

Press conference sheds light on new anonymous funding campaign for Rockwall Police.

ROCKWALL, TEXAS – September 15, 2016 – A crowd gathered yesterday on the San Jacinto Plaza to learn more about a new way to Back the Blue. Rockwall Mayor Jim Pruitt and Police Chief Kirk Riggs spoke about the new Silent Partners initiative. It’s a project started by a group of philanthropic residents who wanted to anonymously donate funds to support the Rockwall Police Department.

The Silent Partners campaign started with a couple of residents discussing the tragic attack on police in Dallas this past July. The pair wanted to reach out to show their support for local law enforcement officers, and they wanted to do it anonymously. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and generosity we’ve received from the public,” said Chief Riggs. “The City does a good job funding everything we need as a police department to keep our officers safe on the streets, but these donations will be useful to help us make a difference in our community.”

The funds received will directly benefit officers of the Rockwall Police Department for things such as assisting the families of fallen officers in Rockwall County, sending representatives to fallen officers’ funerals, and supporting local non-profit organizations and college scholarships.

“We appreciate the residents who have come forward to start this Silent Partners program,” said Mayor Pruitt. “This provides an incredible opportunity for those who have expressed an interest in giving to this worthwhile cause without being in the limelight.” Anyone who would like to donate can send their contributions directly to the Rockwall Police Department at 205 West Rusk Street, Rockwall, Texas 75087. Please make sure to specify “Silent Partners” on the check, and donations of any amount are greatly appreciated.
